How to get out of Jury Duty?

This isn't really a question, more of a comment. I showed up for the jury selection today, as I was told to do in the letter I received. A woman called out a list of names, of the people who were supposed to be there. These names were in order. Get this: my name wasn't even on the list. So, I was excused. For those of you who helped answer my question, I sincerely thank you. For the one who told me to "shut up, death gets you out of it," that was rude. I hope you never work at a suicide hotline.
