I am having a hard time. Is there a Bible page that will help me?

God never intended those verses to be taken out of context. God does not want His people to be punching bags or doormats. Jesus was talking to Jews and their laws at the time. At that time people would not hand out justice for a crime. They went over board. They would beat you up if you stole bread, kill you for adultery, if you lied they would throw you out of town. Jesus was saying that we must forgive someone who ASKS for forgiveness and changes their actions. "If a person REPENTS and asks for forgiveness then forgive them 70 times 7." Your brother hasn't changed. A person on drugs should never be allowed near your child and he's emotionally ruining you. God also said to shake the dust from your feet and move on from people who do not want to listen to you or treat you right. God bless and I'll pray for your brother.
