Rootkit problems, Avast isn't helping!?

I just had to remove the spy-agent.bw rootkit virus. Nothing worked for me until I found McAfee Rootkit Detective. It's a free program. You need to disable system restore which will delete all previous restore points. I was nervous about this but it made sense as you really can't restore anyway since chances are you will still have an infected file in your restore points. Try Rootkit Detective. Good luck.
