Best way to attach plastic to plastic (nylon 6/6 to polyethylene) securely?

I'm trying to find the best way to adhere nylon 6/6 to polyethylene. Both pieces are about 1" in diameter. To clarify it's a nylon spacer slip fitting into a polyethylene cap. They need to adhere permanently. What's the best adhesive? I heard acetone might work?
